The Debate
Bush, thank heaven, did much better in this debate. I think that this format works better for him, because Bush is much better at coming across as a "man of the people" than Kerry is. Kerry seemed to completely avoid questions a lot more often than Bush (though, I must admit that Bush dodged the quite unfair question about "three mistakes), and he also seemed to be stammering pretty often.
The stem cell question in particular stood out to me as one that both candidates failed miserably. The question was (paraphrased): Adult and umbilical stem cells work. No Embryonic stem cells have cured anyone to date. How can you justify killing children for this? Kerry's answer avoids the question of morality altogether, and Bush's answer (though I strongly support his stance on the stem cell research) is convoluted and sounds much more like something Kerry would say.
I'm not going to bother posting a lot about this debate at the moment. I'd recommend checking some of the blogs on my sidebar (Instapundit or Power Line would be my first stops).
