Other than getting the final results from The Command Post (with West Virginia coverage here by correspondent Steve Bragg of Double Toothpicks), as far as I'm concerned, the election is over, since I filled out my ballot today at about 6:40am.

Assuming that a.) you're elible to vote and b.) you're not one of those who believes that Saddam's murderous tyranical regime was somehow preferable to the liberated Iraq we're helping to build, go vote.

I don't care if you're voting for John Kerry or George W. Bush or Michael Badnarik or Ralph Nader or James T. Kirk. Men fought and died to build a country where you could have a say. If you've any interest at all in how this election turns out, vote. After you've voted, relax. Things will work out. Whatever happens, remember: God is in control.

Pay close attention to the exit polls and election results if that's what you want to do. If that's just going to get you agitated, go do something else. Brush off your rusty Halo skills in anticipation of Halo 2's release next week. Read a book. Go see a movie. Don't agonize and fret over the election. Once you've voted, it's out of your hands, and panic never helps.

Meanwhile, it couldn't hurt to pray that, no matter who the winner is, the loser will accept the results gracefully. While I strongly believe that this election is important, I am more anxious, now, that whoever loses will pitch a huge fit. A second straight election with the nonsense that went on four years ago will likely ruin the confidence people have in the system.

[ADDENDUM: I didn't follow my own advice, and I actually paid close attention to what was being said, and I got myself all agitated. I really don't understand how this is a race at all, considering how many times Kerry's shot himself in the foot.

Given that, I'm going to go pray, nap, and read, trying to remind myself that, whoever wins this election, it is God who will be in charge.]
